Boris Blanc – Fuelled by Purpose, Powered by Endurance

Originally from Europe, Boris moved to Sydney two years ago to pursue a PhD in environmental science and climate change. Now in his 20s, he juggles a demanding academic schedule with 15–20 hours of weekly training, pushing his limits with Coogee Triathlon Club and Run Squad.

For Boris, endurance sport is a mindset—about discipline, resilience, and community. We’re proud to have him as a mapleROO Ambassador, trusting our natural products to fuel his toughest sessions and biggest race days—without the crashes or gut issues, just clean endurance.

I first started Triathlon to follow my older brother and quickly fell in love with all three disciplines. I love the process of hard training and getting better through dedication and hard work.

Listen to your body is the most important thing in high level endurance sport. Training hard is important but in order to avoid injuries or burnout, you need to listen to your body and appreciate the easy days as much as the hard training days.

This year, preparing for IM 70.3 Cairns I am training around 15 hrs per week with about 4 sessions in each discipline per week. I alternate easy days with hard ones in order to recover well from the hardest sessions.
The social aspect is also important and I love to train with others.
